Obviously there are a lot of words circulating around a detox diet and cleanses, most saying less than stellar things about them. Many even claiming that they are a waste of time and money.
And who can argue? If we’re honest with one another, what happens when the word detox or cleanse pops into your head? You start thinking about all of the negative associations like hunger, weird food, liquids only, a cocktail of drinks and colonics? Sounds pleasant right? Think again. With some of these detox gimmicks on the market you may feel better in the end but is it really worth the pain and suffering?
In this article, we are going to propose 7 truths about detoxifying and help you understand the true metabolic need of cleansing your body. In the end your mind will be blown into a new way of detoxing.

DETOX DIET LIES:
Sure detoxifying and cleansing can be controversial. In fact there are some pretty nasty regimens out there that make cleansing less than appetizing. We’re not here in support of any and all detoxes. In fact, we’re here to show you, there’s a new way to detox. It’s easy, satisfying, energizing and can quite possibly turn you into the next health food snob.
Oh wait, did we say snob?
We mean that in all the best ways. Like turning down a slice of cake at work simply because your body feels so darn good you don’t even need it. The thought of macaroni and six dinner rolls before supper is served are over. The brick in your stomach, gone. The indigestion, lack of energy and out of control bowels, over for good.
You are about to win this battle. You are going to take control and you are going to learn to detox like a boss… Of course turning you into a health food snob in the process. It’s just a good symptom of the cleanse.
Hey in your defense, we need more of them so stand proud and embrace the detox.
YOUR BODY DOESNT NEED ANY HELP
It’s no secret that your body is a pretty incredible masterpiece. It takes on quite the burden every day and does so without complaining… well it’s complaining most of the times we just don’t listen. But we can’t deny the fact that our bodies do an incredible job at cleaning house and getting rid of the thousands of toxins it is exposed to on a daily basis. Let’s just recount some of them shall we?
- 5:30 am you wake to throw on your gym shoes and you fill your plastic water bottle with tap water = 2 OFFENSES – plastic and tap water. Oh, do we need to mention you slather on some deodorant and brush your teeth = offense 3 from the deodorant of course.
- 5:45 am your off to the gym to break a sweat and build some muscle.
- 6:15 am you grab a “protein” bar or shake at the gym for the way home because you are starving = OFFENSE 4 – high sugar, high additives, very processed, maybe we should give it two offenses?
- 6:20 you fill up your plastic water bottle in the drinking fountain = OFFENSE 5 & 6 -for plastic and tap water (again).
- 6:30 You jump in the shower, wash your hair and body = OFFENSE 7 & 8 – toxic body wash and shampoo.
- 6:45 am you put on the makeup, cologne, perfume, hair gel, hair spray and whatever else you may be slathering all over your skin – which by the way is your largest organ = OFFENSE 9, 10, 11, 12 and possibly more.
- 7:00 am you’re fully dressed, you pour yourself a cup of joe and add some creamer = OFFENSE 13 and grab another bar = OFFENSE 14
POINT PROVEN
I mean we could continue all throughout the day but can we all agree that we are exposed to countless toxins every.single.day. We didn’t even have time to mention all the junk we breathe in just as a natural part of living.
Now I don’t say this to scare you (okay maybe a little bit) but just to prove a point. Our bodies are attacked, daily. Yes, they do an incredibly good job of cleaning house and getting rid of the junk. Heck you probably sweated some of it out at exercise class…. the problem is most of us reach our threshold where it can’t quite keep up with the load and it starts to store, back up and get clogged.
On the other hand you could be one of the rare ones that eats really, really clean, you don’t eat junk or processed food, your conscious of the cleaners you use in your house and what you put on your body. You study it, you know it and you take every measure to protect your body. First, kudos to you and in the case of detox or not to detox we say there is always room to improve, always room to be extra conscious and cleanse your body for a period of time and in the process push your body to become cleaner. That is, if it is done through the new way to cleanse and not your standard, less than par protocol.

THE TRUTHS ABOUT DETOXING
Now that we made it pretty clear that detoxing and cleansing don’t have to be weird, rigid protocols that involve crazy amounts of pills or weird tinctures, instead we know, there is a new way to detox and regardless of who you are and what you do, there are a lot of valuable truths when it comes to the health of your body. Let’s break it down.
1. Improve Your Immune System
I’m not really sure we need any other reason to detox other than this. Improving our immune system is the key to lasting health. It’s the frosting on the cake (who uses bad food analogies when they are talking about detoxing?!? Excuse me…), the oil in the engine and the very means for keeping you working at your prime all of the time.
It’s the end to premature aging, autoimmune disease, colds, bacteria, stomach bugs, aches and pains, and headaches. The immune system is the key to a properly balanced, healthy body. One that can fight off disease without you even having a glimpse of fatigue. But and this is a big but… it can only be done with the proper balance of nutrients. The correct micronutrient profile to lay the foundation for the inter workings of our safety net. It is the armor that shields our warriors from waving the red flag.
2. Reduce Cellulite
Now you’re perking up. In all honestly they say it is a big myth, that toxins cause cellulite. While that may be true we have to look at the entire picture of cellulite and I mean every single ripple. There are a lot of factors that play into whether you get cellulite or not. Your age, body fat composition, genetic make-up, smoking preference as well as your diet. Some things we can control and other things we most definitely cannot (wait I can’t be 29 forever?).
What we do know about cellulite is that it is formed through excess fat deposits (most of the time) but also from a lack of structure to our cells and connective tissue. This issue can most certainly be helped with a detox protocol. One, by simply reducing the body fat composition but two, strengthening all of the good tissue in your body through the right foods and at the right times. There are also a few other helpful tips that we’ll get into including just “brushing it out”. Okay it might not be that easy but it most definitely can help. And by brushing I mean dry brushing.
3. Improves repair process
This answer goes along with the other two. When we boost our immune system we help to improve the repair process of our body which means healing from the inside out. How do we do this? Through proper energy consumption (eat your calories people) and the right nutrient profile we can kick our repair process into gear and watch as even our skin is transformed giving it a glow you only thought was possible on the cover of magazines.
Do I need to mention that the repair process is also what will smooth out that cellulite from the inside out? No plastic surgery can give you those kind of results.
4. Lose weight
You will rarely hear us shouting weight loss through the rooftops. Yes, we know it sells and it sells well. But we’re not about doing something just because that quick fix sounds so enticing. We want lasting change that can be achieved for life. It’s not a gimmick, diet, fad or something you need so bad simply because you are going to be in your friends’ wedding or your class reunion is approaching.
While that can all be reason to begin it can’t be THE reason you choose a path of lasting health. But the good news is, weight loss is a very real possibility. In most cases, when you see healing and restoration from the inside out, you also start to see fat melt and the scale inch towards a very healthy place. The key is working with your body in a harmony where it comes off with ease. Not an intense battle of you verses your body using every ounce of willpower that seems to be fleeting right in front of your eyes.
5. Improve skin quality
Your skin being your largest organ says a lot about what is happening internally. Yes we can mask it, the symptoms, age spots, rosacea, eczema, fungus, dry skin or acne. But masking it is stressful and even more than that, it is expensive. What we need to know is that our skin is a direct relationship to the inner workings of our body. If we improve the foundation through an influx of nutrients and energy and we get rid of the impurities we will start to glow. That complexion you thought was never possible is now in plain view.
6. Improve mental and emotional clarity
Brain fog and fatigue are number one and number two symptoms most people present with on a daily basis. The ones no one really talks about instead they just shove them in their back pocket and try to push through. Of course only pushing through with 7 cups of coffee and and endless supply of sugar to keep going. Never fixing the issue just slapping a bandaid on it.
So let’s just rip the bandaid off and realize that cleansing, getting rid of the extra junk in your body and filling it full of life giving nutrients will help you overcome these barriers. No it doesn’t have to do with your age or the fact that your kids wake up eighteen times a night (I’m with you on this one), what it boils down to is your health. The internal workings of your system creating the proper balance to help you sleep when it’s time to sleep and wake (like be completely awake) when it’s time to be awake.
7. Restore balance to our body’s system
When you complete a detox or cleanse, you overhaul your life and your diet and you make a pact with yourself to go for ultimate health, then and only then can we see a complete restoration and overhaul of your inter workings. It’s no longer just about washing the outside but paying careful attention to every crack on the inside. Cleaning house with purpose and good intention. This makes detoxing and cleansing a complete picture of health where your focused on the body as a whole.
It’s time to Detox like a boss.
Lets put our fists together and give a shout to ending the FLC syndrome (aka. feel like crap syndrome). To end the annoying aches and pains, forgetting where you left your keys, ahem flatulence (stinky gas), allergies, headaches and even more serious problems like autoimmune disease, migraines, asthma, acne, irritable bowl, reflux, arthritis and even worse.
There is a cure to FLC syndrome and that is cleaning house, being extra conscious, changing your life and choosing to detox.

Quality, taste, atmosphere it makes a difference and this change can only come from within and choosing to not just adapt a fad, trend or gimmick but to understand life, what is your life and the inter workings of that life so you can live in full abundance with unlimited energy, excitement and zeal for who you are.
What is this new detox?
It’s simple, small changes you choose to make with joy and confidence creating a new normal, a new you. It’s about choosing quality over quantity, life giving nourishments over counting and ending the fear, regret and negativity you have towards your body.
It’s daily habits you create that will change the course of your life. It’s as simple as sipping warm lemon water or using a dry brush before showering. Maybe it’s getting more sleep, taking more time for yourself, eating more plants and switching your Windex for vinegar.
It’s one change after another all in the direction of health. It’s a declaration of a new way of life, not a quick fix or chasing something that doesn’t last.
The bottom line, it’s getting rid of the junk, the things that clog you up, overcoming your need for convince or treating yourself with things that only wreck havoc. It’s choosing a cleaner way of eating, of living and learning to love the way you feel.
