Stop drinking smoothies and eating salads. The colder temperatures are here meaning your body needs something different to thrive. Here is your Seasonal Guide for Fall & Winter: What to Eat & How to Live.
To everything, there is a season, including us. As much as we don’t have to live seasonally in the way we eat, thanks to the fresh produce section at the grocery store supplying everything nearly all year long or even live seasonally, our body still adjusts to the changing of the season.
You might not recognize it at first, but I think if we all peered a little longer we could see our bodies needs change with the seasons. Your need for sleep increases, your cravings change and your bodies ability to stay warm diminishes.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Often our thirst increases, our ability to handle stress decreases and our urge to cuddle up under warm blanket skyrockets. These changes are all part of the seasonal cycle at work in and on your biological processes that are working to control your immunity, mind, metabolism, hormones, sleep cycles and more.
The problem is, we live in an age where we aren’t forced to change seasonally, even though our body always is. This resistance to change is causing a lot of harm to these biological processes leading to seasonal affective disorder, weight gain, moodiness, exhaustion, weakness and more.
The good news – it’s so easy to change. It just means working with your body instead of against it and helping it to stay warm and moist all winter long. In this podcast, I tell you exactly how to do that.
I’ve also created a FREE download to give you the exact how-to on what to eat and how to live. Download that guide below. And don’t forget to learn the exact science on why seasonality matters here.

warm + moist + predictability
Given that winter is cold, dry, windy and unpredictable – our body craves the opposite. It needs this change and works very hard to achieve this homeostatic level in the body. So rather than working against your body, giving it what you think it needs like smoothies and salads all year long – what would change if you stopped putting more stress on your body and lessened the load?
What if you ate your cravings and lived your cravings by consuming more comfort foods, cooked your vegetables and added some oil and went to bed earlier? Could you enhance your immune system instead of diminishing it – preventing the winter colds and flu? Could you also avoid the holiday weight gain and go into the new year with new energy? That is what seasonality does – it enhances the bodily functions making everything work more efficiently.
That’s why this fall and winter you should focus on foods and lifestyle practices that provide warmth, movement, moisture, oils, predictability, and comfort.
