Why You Should Take Elderberry Syrup + Homemade Recipe
Serves: 24 Tablespoons
  • ¾ cup dried elderberries
  • 3 cups water
  • ¾ cup raw honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 whole star anise
  • ΒΌ tsp whole cloves
  1. Place the dried elderberries and water in a medium-sized saucepan (with optional spices) over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until thick and reduced by half.
  3. Remove and cool completely.
  4. Strain the syrup into a bowl, pressing the juice out of the berries with a wooden spoon and discarding the whole spices.
  5. Whisk in the raw honey and pour into jars.
  6. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
