I’ve been wearing stress like it’s an essential piece of clothing. It has followed me around, plagued me and caused great pain this past year. While I desperately tried to just get rid of it or overcome the stress, in most cases it wasn’t possible.
It was everywhere and there was no way to escape it.
As I continued to spiral downhill into this pit that lacked most joy and hop,e I knew there had to be a better way. Other people lived much more stressful lives than myself and yet still had much more joy than I did.
I knew I had to get myself out of the very thing that was holding me back from living the life I wanted, chronic stress. This stress turned into illness, faltering relationships and a lack of purpose in life. Questioning everything I was doing and wondering why it was even worth the agony.
It was at that point, the low that I realized there was a better way. I found the new way after watching a TED talk and it completely transformed my thoughts about stress, how I handled stress and I began to embrace it rather than fear it, working to avoid it only to get more of it.
This episode is very near and dear to my heart and has been a complete paradigm shift to how I view my life.
Now one with purpose, with joy and with an unending passion to live each day to its fullest.
