Not long ago I found myself sitting at a food blogger conference torn with what my purpose and my passion was in life. Selfishly I generally have other ideas for what I should be doing with my life and yet this overwhelming need to help others never leaves me. So as I was sitting there learning all things food blogging even when I knew that my hopes of just creating food recipes everyday was not really my calling.
As I sit down at a table, generally overwhelmed in large crowds where everyone seems to know one another, I sit and I hope and pray that I will find answers. I begin to slowly feel myself crawling out of my skin, not even sure where to begin because my passions, while I wish lie in food blogging are somewhere totally different.
Somewhere that involves healing, overcoming pain and understanding the true struggles of others and working to make them better. That is when Kristin and her husband Dustin enter the picture. We were sitting at one big round table, you know the ones who can hold at least eight people and yet it was just Kristin and Dustin sitting all alone with my husband, Payton and myself. While I’m not sure how that managed to happen in a room full of people yet I’m so thankful it did.
It was just what I needed. As we began to talk I realized that Kristin too had passions far outside of just food. The passion to get unstuck in this life we live in of overly processed things. A life where we believe we are doing everything right only to eventually face the grim reality that things aren’t so perfect. That this easy life, a life of convenience, begins getting a little more complicated as you wade through figuring out health complications and overcoming them naturally.
Kristin and Dustin know best as they watched food heal their son and have taken a real food and natural living stance. Fortunately for all of us, they make it overly practical and easy for us to achieve. I’d even say Kristin is a master in natural DIY home cleaners and cosmetics. She really is like this hidden mastermind that takes a challenge head on and comes out the other side with a win.
Her energy and passion help make this real foods life possible and more importantly delicious and that is why I’m so excited to share this episode with you. There is truth immersed into nearly every minute of this show and countless tips that you can incorporate today to make this a family trend. I so wish that I could have countless more weekends, sitting at a table all alone learning from this wonderful creative mind.
