Let’s just be up front about this. I have never loved matcha tea. In fact, I would NEVER order it at a coffee shop. So what made me decide that I needed a matcha latte in my life? I have no idea.
But here we are, totally smitten and obsessed with this fat burning matcha latte.

Matcha is a powdered green tea that is grown and produced in Japan. The leaves are known for their high chlorophyll content making it the rich green color. The leaves, which are shaded from the sun in the last few weeks of production are then ground with stone grinding wheels. While I prefer to use the matcha green tea powder in this matcha latte, you can also use it in smoothies, baking. I’ve even seen recipes for matcha in sauces and salad dressings.

To get the perfect matcha look for only those brands with one ingredient, matcha. Also make sure you opt for organic and non-GMO when possible. This is to ensure you reduce the risk or harmful particles and heavy metals which can be found in some low-grade matcha teas. And don’t be alarmed, good matcha does come with a price. However, because of the highly concentrate flavor and nutrient profile you use such a tiny amount that lasts. I promise high quality is the way to go. I prefer this brand of matcha green tea.

- 1 teaspoon matcha
- 1 scoop Vital Proteins collagen powder
- 2 teaspoons honey {optional}
- ½ teaspoon pure vanilla {or vanilla bean paste}
- 1 cup water
- ⅔ cup unsweetened cashew milk {or milk of choice}
- Sift match powder into high speed blender.
- Add in collagen powder, honey, vanilla, very warm water {don't overheat or it will make your match bitter}, warm cashew milk.
- Blend for 1-2 minutes to make frothy.
- Pour into a mug and enjoy.
