As they always say, it’s hard to understand how grateful you are for something until it’s been taken away. I feel like I’ve come face to face with more things I took for granted than ever before. But more, I took for granted how deeply relational human beings are.
I miss people. As I’m sure, you do as well.
So in honor of getting through this season {in addition to the 60-day accountability group}, I wanted to start something that I always love. That is a solid Friday post with fun and practical things I’m loving, great articles I’m reading, and must-have products.
I’m titling it Friday-Five hitting on five big points:
- Practical tips {this week is COVID-19 prevention}
- Weekly lessons I learned
- Things I’m loving
- Foods I’m batch cooking this weekend
- Healthy recipes I’m loving
I’d also love to know what you love right now? Leave a comment and let’s inspire, encourage, and motivate one another to stop making health what we do and live it as a part of who we are!
5 {reserached} tips in preventing COVID-19
1. Melatonin supplementation as a prevention method in COVID-19.
2. Vitamin C’s potential powerhouse in boosting your immune system.
3. The protective properties of Vitamin D can’t be ignored.
5. This webinar sums up many additional therapies used in prevention.
5 things I’m loving
- Twenty-five different home projects to tackle with the extra time.
- Frozen greens {like spinach} in my smoothies – it lessens the flavor without diminishes the nutrients.
- Fixating on energy sources outside of food – yes there are MANY sources of energy that you don’t have to eat food plays a relatively small role in our actual energy levels.
- This game is on repeat at our house. My kids love it {it may have been my favorite childhood game that is still fun as an adult}.
- This rubber broom has been my lifesaver for the last four years. It works on carpet, rugs and the floor – getting into all of the cracks and crannies. Plus it’s cheap!
5 things I learned this week
5 foods I’m batch cooking this weekend
Batch cooking is the backbone of my healthy eating habits. One of the biggest hurdles of healthy eating is having healthy food on hand. You can’t eat what you don’t have, and you probably won’t eat it if it’s not prepped. It’s always easier at the moment to grab a bag of chips than chop and dice some lunch box peppers or cook a meal.
That’s why I want to rescue you from your mealtime troubles and give you the one system that works. Have you tried the Batch Cooking System Yet? Get the Spring Batch Cooking Guide here. Here’s what I’m prepping this week!
- Quinoa – Here’s how to make it perfectly!
- 20 Minute Caesar Salad with roasted chickpeas
- Sweet Potato Toasts
- Homemade Pesto
- Healthy, No-Bake Protein Granola Bars – we store them in the freezer and LOVE them!
5 healthy recipes I’m loving
- We’ve been eating a ton of this guacamole for lunch and supper.
- I’m putting a spring twist on this recipe with the addition of peas and asparagus.
- Grilled pineapple on this salad never gets old.
- My kids loved this enchilada rice bake – and it was a great way to use up some leftovers 😉
- Smoothie season is back, and this one is giving me life.
