When it comes to health and creating nourishing rhythms, type two, you have many healthy and highly beneficial characteristics. When you see a need, you meet the need.
The problem is – you expend so much energy giving to others that you fail to realize how little energy you have left for yourself. You find your worth in giving and have detached the thought that you, yourself, are worthy of energy and attention. This often leads to numbing or stuffing your feelings, decreasing your energy instead of processing through what it would mean for you to love yourself.
But it’s in this love for yourself that you’ll have more love to give to other people without them stealing your energy. Can you imagine giving out of an abundance of energy that you have?
two’s summer challenge
You have to love yourself to have abundant energy. For a two, that means understanding a bigger view of love – a love that can only come from God.
This summer, your goal is soul care – spending more time nourishing your soul and creating a new vision of love based on what Jesus says about you.
To get back to the truth.
It’s here in His love that you can accept that love, which is abundantly yours -allowing you more than enough to give.
Let this be the summer to end numbing your emotions, releasing unmet expectations, and start to process how you feel and what you need. Come back home to your feelings and dig in deep to what you believe. Use this summer to explore and go deeper in your faith.

Here are some ways to take soul care and make it practical. Pick and choose to make it work for you.
- Take daily prayer walks.
- Bust out a journal and start writing.
- Pick up a devotional and drive to a park to dig in.
- Start a mini Bible study with a few close friends, building relationships that fill you up.
Approach health as a place of solitude, a place of rest, and individuality, aside from what everyone else needs from you. Do this as a means to nurture and sustain yourself, bringing with it more joy. It’s time to get gentle with yourself, listen to your needs, and engage in self-care activities that will sustain and heal you physically and mentally.
