Enneagram Type 8, you are considered the independent, self-sufficient, confident force. But, have you ever considered how this relates to your health? Learn what this means inside.
Eight’s you are a powerful, confident force highly disciplined and able to do what you are passionate about. You are a defender of man and ready to stand for what you believe in.
With this comes an abundance of energy. In fact, you have more energy than any other number on the enneagram. While this is a great thing, like anything, too much of a good thing can become harmful.
Unspent energy is one of your most significant weaknesses of an enneagram eight. You have plenty of energy, but the unused energy can make you feel like you’re low on it when you really just need to channel your energy in a healthy direction. In this, you’ll find balance.
eight’s summer challenge
This summer, let’s focus on bringing your energy back into balance, which means softening to the idea of rest and opening up to adventure and play. Seeing your life for more than just the work you do but who you are underneath all of that drive.
Your challenge this summer is to spend time honoring your body and positively releasing your energy. Start to recognize when your energy is building and what activities allow you to actively free the negative energy, opening up space for the healthy internal energy that is in abundance.
It’s not that you need more energy but to learn to channel that energy into something healthy. To do this, you need to know what works for you. Which means you need to take some space for yourself.
This summer, seize personal space. Get alone with your thoughts, even if that means going on a run {san’s music or podcasts} to listen to what it is you need and how you’re feeling.
additional healthy rhythms
If you’re not digging personal space, alone and still – try one of these other rhythms that will help you tap into space while still being active.
- Take a solo adventure – jump in the car and spend the day out in nature.
- Take a weekly sabbath, even if it’s just from social media.
- Schedule the first hour of your day to be alone even if that’s why you’re working out.
- Spend five minutes a day doing yoga – just five minutes.
You make the rules, just don’t forget you need space, we all do. Make time to rest from work even if that means active rest.
