While your resistance brain isn’t technically a biological place in your body – we all know the effects or resistance on our lives. Today we break down how to overcome your resistance brain to get healthy {and live awesome}.
Most people have two lives: the life they live and the life they desire to live. Standing in the middle is something called resistance.
Resistance is the active and relentless force that stops you from becoming the healthier version of yourself, from pushing through to achieving your goals and living the life you desire.
The good news, we can hack this resistance brain and help you live in health rather than in a constant state of pushing but getting nowhere.
Inside this podcast, we talk about how force creates resistance and the only way to overcome your resistance brain to walk in health – that’s easy. Think it isn’t possible – check out the podcast to find out exactly how to do this and stop living in the cycle of self-sabotage.

resistance
Resistance is something we know, we feel, and yet we do very little to outsmart. It tends to be the underlying force that brainwashes us into believing it’s lies.
Your resistance brain is excellent at:
- being overly self-critical
- falling into temptation because that temptation is normal
- reminding you that it’s too risky and you’ll probably end up failing
- the reason you always find an excuse not to do something
As Steven Pressfield put it, “Resistance is the little voice in the back of your head telling you to back off, be careful, go slow and compromise.”
It’s the inner voice of self-sabotage.
As Self-Godin states in his book Linchpin: Are You Indispensable?
“The lizard brain is hungry, scared, angry, and horny.
It only wants to eat and be safe.
The lizard brain will fight (to the death) if it has to, but would rather run away. It likes a vendetta and has no trouble getting angry.
The lizard brain cares what everyone else thinks, because status in the tribe is essential to its survival.
The lizard brain is not merely a concept. It’s real, and it’s living on the top of your spine, fighting for your survival. But, of course, survival and success are not the same thing.
The lizard brain is the reason you’re afraid, the reason you don’t do all the art you can, the reason you don’t ship when you can.
The resistance brain seduces you into believing that you’re better right where you are.
fighting back
The good news is there are ways around the resistance brain, and you can fight back without actually fighting your biology. Inside the podcast, I share the top ways to overcome your resistance brain, and in the case of health push through to achieve momentum.
Make sure you listen to get all of the details.
Remember, survival is hardwired in a strong way inside our body. Anytime you threaten that or create force beyond that – your body will fight back. So instead of trying to force things why not start working with your body. Change your mindset, your focus and the outcome will be more painless than you can imagine.
