I used to have an unhealthy obsession with Totino’s pizza.
I quit that obsession nine years ago, but once in a while, a craving still strikes.
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cups sliced mushrooms
- 1 pound ground Italian sausage
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 jar pizza sauce
- 1 package Applegate Farms Pepperoni
- 2 cups Italian cheese, optional
- 1 {32-ounce} bag tater tots
- Black olives, optional
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees and prepare a 3-quart rectangular baking dish.
- In a large skillet or pot, heat olive oil and add onion, garlic, bell peppers, mushrooms, Italian sausage, and ground beef.
- Cook over medium heat until meat is cooked through and veggies are tender.
- Pour into a baking dish and stir in pizza sauce.
- Top with chopped pepperoni and 1½ cup Italian cheese {if using}.
- Bake for 30 minutes, remove and add remaining cheese and olives {optional}.
- Place back in the oven for 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted and tots are crisp.
