The best self-care practices for enneagram nine is explained inside. It’s a subject I’m delighted to talk with an actual type nine on what this looks like in life.
Self-care is a subject that I’ve thought long and hard about. Similar to the body positivity movement – it’s one that has a lot of good and bad. But if we go back to the original definition of the word, then I think we can start to understand that self-care is not just another series of benchmarks and checkmarks, but it’s a filling from abundance.
Of knowing where you are and loving yourself for being there. Yet willing to take the necessary action to fill that self up. Whether through nourishing foods, bubble baths, or anything in between. Self-care is what you need and providing that when you need it – even if it is just a morning of extra sleep.
So maybe all of that to say, we don’t have to practice self-care but rather make self-care a part of who we are — living self-aware.
The Ennea-health series was born from this. A place of actual knowledge to take action, creating a healthier life that is who you are not what you do.
Today we continue digging into the Enneagram type nine through an interview with an online friend. Today I talk with Alannah Cook about her health journey how she has learned to use her strengths to overcome her health hurdles. Learn all the details and what this could mean for you inside the podcast.
enneagram type nine
As a nine, you’re in the gut triad, meaning you process life through your body with anger being your underlying emotion. While that may be the case, nine’s, you certainly don’t show that. You of all the types are known as the sweethearts and gentlemen of the enneagram. Working hard to bring peace and harmony to the world.
While you work to do this, especially with the ones you love and asking for no credit to be given back to you – you quickly become exhausted. You give and give and give leaving nothing in return for yourself.
But nine’s, you have so much to offer both to others and yourself. You have to make yourself, your dreams, your needs a priority. So here’s your permission slip to tell you it’s okay to spend time and money on yourself.
Whether you get a massage, facial, take a solo date to the coffee shop with a good book – do something for yourself. Not just once, but repeatedly. Choosing to fill yourself, so you have more to give.
Inside the podcast, I talk with Alannah Cook about how she has learned how to use her peacemaking abilities to calm her inner self. I appreciate this interview so much as Alannah is completely open and honest about her struggles with being there for everyone and feeling exhausted on the other side. She also walks through daily practices that have helped her focus on herself.
