The best self-care practices for enneagram type five is explained inside. It’s a subject I’m delighted to talk with an actual type five on what this looks like in life.
Self-care is a subject that I’ve thought long and hard about. Similar to the body positivity movement – it’s one that has a lot of good and bad. But if we go back to the original definition of the word, then I think we can start to understand that self-care is not just another series of benchmarks and checkmarks, but it’s a filling from abundance.
Of knowing where you are and loving yourself for being there. Yet willing to take the necessary action to fill that self up. Whether through nourishing foods, bubble baths, or anything in between. Self-care is what you need and providing that when you need it – even if it is just a morning of extra sleep.
So maybe all of that to say, we don’t have to practice self-care but rather make self-care a part of who we are — living self-aware.
The Ennea-health series was born from this. A place of actual knowledge to take action, creating a healthier life that is who you are not what you do.
Today we continue digging into the Enneagram type five through an interview with an online friend. Today I talk with Cassidy Tyler about her health journey how she has learned to use her strengths to overcome her health hurdles. Learn all the details and what this could mean for you inside the podcast.
enneagram type five
As a five, you’re always in your head – thinking, planning, imagining, fearing – it’s constant chatter. While this can be valued using your strong self-discipline and willpower, you must be careful to overthink and overanalyze yourself. Rather than living stuck in the “worst-case-scenario” mindset, what would happen if you shifted that to your energy levels?
Five’s only have so much energy to be used in a day and need to focus on re-filling and re-charing your batteries daily. What if you took your focus off of analyzing health or letting it take a back seat to the other pressures of life? Instead, you shifted your mindset to using health as nothing more than recharging your batteries.
Don’t overthink it, overanalyze it, or plan for it. But imagine, what would change if you looked at health as a means of filling rather than fixing?
Make this your mindset shift as you approach healthy lifestyle changes. That these aren’t just another thing you can use to secure or hoard your safety – but as a means to fill your energy bank. To believe that health is not a chase, you may miss but a mindset of abundance. There is plenty to give and plenty to get.
Inside the podcast, I talk with xxx about her struggle with living too deep within her mind and how she learned to stop working for health and let health become who she is. We dive in deep with how she has learned to manage her thoughts — learning into the confidence of what she brings to the table.
