The best self-care practices for enneagram type three is explained inside. It’s a subject I’m delighted to talk with an actual type three on what this looks like in life.
Self-care is a subject that I’ve thought long and hard about. Similar to the body positivity movement – it’s one that has a lot of good and bad. But if we go back to the original definition of the word, then I think we can start to understand that self-care is not just another series of benchmarks and checkmarks, but it’s a filling from abundance.
Of knowing where you are and loving yourself for being there. Yet willing to take the necessary action to fill that self up. Whether through nourishing foods, bubble baths, or anything in between. Self-care is what you need and providing that when you need it – even if it is just a morning of extra sleep.
So maybe all of that to say, we don’t have to practice self-care but rather make self-care a part of who we are — living self-aware.
The Ennea-health series was born from this. A place of actual knowledge to take action, creating a healthier life that is who you are not what you do.
Today we continue digging into the Enneagram type three through an interview with a dear friend. Today I talk with Rebekah about her health journey how she has learned to use her strengths to overcome her health hurdles. Learn all the details and what this could mean for you inside the podcast.
enneagram type three
You are a feeler. It may not appear on the surface like you’re emotional, but you are, and you desperately want to make the world a better place. You’re devoted to working hard and getting things done with discipline and class.
You so badly want to achieve that you can easily detach from your feelings, suppressing them to keep yourself focused on the task at hand. In the short term, this is a highly valued skill. But long term, stuffing emotions brings with it a weight that is hard to carry.
That’s why threes need to come back to a place of health and recognize that it’s not just about how you perform but who you are. Remember, you are not loved because of what you’ve achieved but because of who you are.
Inside the podcast, I talk with Rebekah about her struggle with identity and how she handles her drive to be noticed. We dive in deep with how she has learned to overcome her fear of failure — learning to work from a place of love, not for love.
