Did you know it’s more unhealthy for your body including increasing the potential to gain weight if you stand rather while eating? Inside this post, I share the health reasons why you should sit down to eat.
Your mom probably told you a thousand times in your life, and those exact words come out of my mouth no less than a hundred times every dinner at our home.
Sit down to eat your food.
I don’t know if it’s human nature to keep moving, all day every day but my girls can’t sit down to eat. They may start on their chair, but slowly they begin squatting, then one leg on the chair and one leg off. Sometimes they’re even under the table others on the table and occasionally running around the table.
It’s nonstop. But what I hope to teach them, once the wiggly early elementary years pass is why you should sit down to eat your food. Just some perks include better digestion, absorption, and utilization of your food. Plus it’s good on your gut microbiome.
I mean double bonus right?
Make sure you listen to today’s podcast to learn in less than 10 minutes why you should sit down to eat. It matters I promise you’ll see changes in how you digest food, in how much you consume and how satisfied you are when you sit at the table with good company, or no company and just focus on the goodness going in your belly.

not working?
Did you try sitting to eat and you still are suffering from bloating, digestive issues, lack of digestion? Well, it could be what you’re eating or how stressed you are when you come to the meal.
A good habit to get into is practicing deep breathing before the meal. This helps flood your system with oxygen revving your entire body. Once you’re at the dinner table, take three to five deep breaths filling your belly inhaling for five seconds and exhaling for five more.
Another thing you could try is chewing on some fresh ginger or drinking a glass or warm lemon water 30 minutes before the meal. The ginger and the lemon help to jumpstart your digestive system and get the enzymes needed for digestion flowing.
If none of that works, then I’d suggest that you have a hormonal issue spiking a lack of digestion. The good news is it’s pretty simple to give your body a quick hormonal jump start. I even have a solid plan to help you do that in just 5-days.
