When you’re looking for health and convenience this is exactly what you need. Realistic, delicious and nourishing basic tomato soup 5 ways!
If there’s one thing in health that gets me all fired up today, it’s the impracticality of it all. Like who has time to weigh and measure all of their food? And who wants to be stuck counting carbs or calories?
It all seems so rigid, so strict, so suffocating. But as they say, everything in the name of health, right?
Okay, obviously my sarcasm is getting the best of me today.
Truth is, I’m all about health. I love it, I want it, I strive for it but never at the expense of my life. When health starts taking over our lives then you know we have problems. Because ultimately health is to be used as a means to live not as the end to living.
Can I get an amen?
Unfortunately, the way of health tells us to do more, be better and chase. To go all in and at any expense even if that means cooking different meals for everyone in your family.
But I want to challenge you to a different approach, a new mindset. A mindset that gives you a desire to seek health for the sake of something more. Whether that’s more energy to go biking with your family, more nourishment to feel satisfied or simply wanting to live a long and healthy life.
Because I can assure you that reaching a number on the scale, getting to your goal weight and finally fitting into those skinny jeans will never bring the satisfaction you are looking for. It’s because health isn’t about the destination but the journey.
To enjoy the long winding roads, experience the new terrain and marvel at the beauty.
I know, it’s kind of a cheesy example but it’s the truth. As long as we focus on the destination we’ll always live wanting more, unsatisfied, never enough. But when we start looking at health through the lens of living the journey maybe then we can start to take the slow and joy-filled route.
That means looking at where life has you right now and finding ways to incorporate health into your life, right where you are. Doing the things and eating the things you desire, you enjoy and sound delicious. Because truth is, you’ll never stick with it if you don’t enjoy it.
For me this means quick {like 20 minutes or less} and easy meals, and healthified pre-packaged or partially cooked foods.
Let’s settled on the prepackaged foods for a minute because I feel like this is a nutritionist sin.
Truth is, there’s nothing wrong with some of the “healthier” pre-packaged foods today. In fact, some of them allow you a greater bang than you would maybe even make at home. For me, one example is bone broth.
Bone broth is my staple for fighting illness and really just providing the essentials for a healthy and high functioning body. I mean high functioning is the goal right? Here are some additional benefits:
- healthy skin and hair
- boost the immune system
- boosts natural detoxification
- protects joints
- aids in metabolism
- regulate hormonal flow
And pretty much everything else you can think of. It provides the essential minerals, and nutrients our body tends to be deficient in.
But I rarely ever make it.
Not because it’s difficult but strictly out of convenience. It’s just one more thing I have to make when I could just buy it from a good source like Kettle and Fire.
And who’s to say a rotisserie chicken can’t make that home cooked meal seem more appealing, even over take-out, knowing half the work is already done? Or how about Seite tortilla shells, Banza high-protein pasta, quinoa salad or even a chopped salad mix?
I’m not opposed to any of them. In fact, I rely on all of them and I think you should too.
For the sake of your time, your tastes, and even your health.
I don’t know about you but I’m still going to make the argument that healthy pre-packaged foods give me more nourishment than me “attempting” to do it all myself. Because what always ends up happening is my good intentions get lost in the shuffle of schedules and we end up getting take-out or just picking at whatever we can find.
At least in the case of these healthified pre-packaged foods like this tomato soup, you get all the health without any work. Meaning at the end of the day, I’m getting more nourishment than playing the all-or-none game that never ends up panning out well.
Let’s dive into this tomato soup because I’m a sucker for a good tomato soup.
Kettle and Fire, my bone broth of choice launched a new line of soups and I think this is a genius idea. Because I love bone broth, I rarely make it and I don’t use it enough. This eliminates all of those excuses and packages them all up into one easy and convenient grab and go soup that I can take anywhere or eat at any time.
The better news, it’s SO good. Like to your bones nourishing.
