Getting healthy isn’t just about how many macronutrients you eat or how much you move. It’s about living nourished. Here are my 5 essentials to living well nourished to create health that lasts.
What does it mean to live well nourished? At the root, it means something different for all of us. It’s a story you create of owning who you are and what your body needs. A process or journey of self-love and respect to create lasting health.
Maybe you could say it’s the opposite of deprivation, starvation, and restriction. Or even better, the opposite of forcing your body into submission, which never works.
I promise, I told myself I wasn’t going to throw other diets under the bus in this post or ever because they don’t deserve any more energy, time and money than people already give them. But the fact is, living nourished is the exact opposite of what they teach.
Sure, maybe the foundational aspect of real food is there but when we get into measuring, counting, tracking its meaningless to most. Because our body doesn’t work on strict timelines or within strict requirements.
Your body is incredibly sophisticated, intricate, detailed and beautiful. In fact, in all of those intricacies, we try to change we can see endless beauty flowing from. We just have to change our perspective.
This year is the year of living well nourished, in whatever fashion that means to you. Today on the podcast I break down my goals, plans and adventure I have for 2018 and invite you to join me in creating a life that is full of nourishment.

nourish makes the difference
There’s something so filling, so satisfying about the word nourish. Saying it almost fills you with an excitement, a breath of fresh air you’ve been desperately seeking. It’s the simple things, like thinking about nourishing our bodies rather than depriving them. Nourishing our lifestyle rather than abusing it. To Nourish our relationships rather than berate them. And Nourish yourself rather than spending countless hours belittling who you are.
This year, we’re up to something different. Less envy, judgment, comparison, starvation, fighting, belittling, bashing, and busyness. More love, companionship, laughter, adventure, rest, relaxation, gratitude and health.
The bottom line: true and lasting health comes from living a life you love. This is what we’re after!
To live nourished in every aspect of life. That’s why I’ve declared this be the year of living nourished. To break up with the bad mentality, relationships, and foods that hold you back from living the life you were meant. I’m calling this project, The Well Nourished Year.

The Well Nourished Year contains five critical aspects of lasting health that go far beyond just what we eat and how much we exercise. Because if we’re honest we’ve tried that or at least watched others try counting calories, points, tracking macronutrients and working out to extremes and yet it rarely ever works long term.
Why?
Because health is more than just what we put in our body and how much we move. It’s complex, deep and yet so simple. It comes from our core, our roots that establish our life and that is what we’ll break down all year long.
The five parts of the Well-Nourished Year include;
- Relationships
- Faith and Spirituality
- Nutrition {of course}
- Movement and Exercise
- Self Love

But at the end of the day, lasting health, weight loss, feeling good or whatever you’re seeking is a process, a journey, a life of respect, love and honor. A life of filling your vessel so that it overflows. Ultimately, it’s not just The Well Nourished Year but YOUR Well Nourished Life that we’re after!
