Being a mom, it’s hard. In fact it could be described as the hardest job in all the world. As proven by this amazing commercial. I mean who wants to work 24 hours a day, seven days a week without vacations or holidays or heck even a lunch break?
No one.
But it’s also the sweetest job in all the world.
Being a parent has taught me more about myself than anything. I have to admit that the day after I recorded the show I hit an all-time low in my parenting. My kids pushed me to my breaking point where I lost it. Full on yelling at my kids. I’m not proud to say it but I’m here to tell you that we can’t do this parenting thing alone.
That I’ve learned from that moment that I don’t want to be that person to my kids. I need to know when I’ve hit my max, when I need to take a deep breath and most importantly realize that they’re only children. And let’s be honest, what else do they have to do but push buttons and experiment with life by doing everything they shouldn’t?
It was in that moment of regret, of hurt and shame that I realized it is all a learning game and as soon as we quit learning, of changing and moving in the right direction, we quit life. So mom’s I wanted to give you this tribute to let you know that in all situations, you are enough. That just the word mom brings such a huge sense of love and security to children all over the world.
I also wanted to write this to all the women who dread mother’s day out of hurt, loss and longing. This tribute isn’t just for the mom’s but for all the women because regardless of who you are or where you’ve been, you are strong and I can assure you that you are something to someone and in that you too deserve all honor.
Happy Mother’s Day!
