I’m going out on what could be a very controversial limb to argue that your hormones aren’t to blame for what ails you – but your energy is. The typical hormonal equation is;
hormones become imbalanced = weight gain, exhaustion, hot flashes, etc.
But today I want you to see, your hormones don’t just fall out of balance and when they do, it’s not your hormones you need to fix as much as it is the root and that is your energy.
Which means the real equation looks more like this:
decrease in healthy energy = imbalanced hormones = weight gain, exhaustion, hot flashes
What would change if we shifted our focus from hormones to energy? You might just find that your hormones don’t rebalance, but everything in life seems healthier.

stop blaming hormones
Hormones get blamed for a lot of things. Next to weight loss, hormones are the second most googled search in the health space. When I say we need to stop blaming our hormones, I’m not saying that we don’t have a hormonal problem – but I am trying to open you up to the only solution.
Which is not fixating on your hormones but rather your energy flow. To get started, you must first understand what your hormones are.
Your hormones are a communication channel inside of your body. It’s the messenger that consists of energetic molecules reacting to the different signals it’s been given. If you relate it to mailing a letter, your hormones are the mail carrier.
If you take a more in-depth look, then you can start to understand that its rarely the hormone that is the problem, but the one delivering the message. The organ systems and cells responsible for sending out the hormones aren’t always firing as they should be.
So you can see, it’s rarely a hormonal problem, to begin with – it’s more often a signaling issue.
the signaling mechanisms
If your hormones are energetic messenger molecules, then where does the message come from?
I believe this is the most critical question to ask in the hormonal realm. But this means taking a step back from what we know about “hormones” and starting to understand what message your body is trying to communicate. Which is often not a message we want – leading to problems that we don’t want to see.
The leading signaling mechanism in your body is your brain. It is the ultimate control center of your body, taking perceptions of reality with different needs inside the body and creating a signal that is best suited to your survival.
In health, these signals look like thriving. They encompass healing, deep sleep, nourishment, and energy.
On the flip side, when your body is doing it’s best in love to keep you alive, it looks more like hoarding energy.
In either case, it’s a transfer of energy, which is directly tied to the signals of surviving or thriving.
healing your hormones
All of this to say, that if you want to heal the hormonal symptoms you feel, you must first understand if your body is thriving or surviving. It’s an either-or kind of situation. Which on you are living in determines what hormones are released and therefore, what you experience.
Unfortunately, most of our bodies are just trying to survive. Whether because of too much stress, toxins, not enough sleep or too much pushing – your body has reached its threshold and no longer utilizes the abundant flow of energy but hoards and stores it.
If you want to heal your hormones, you have to move your body from a place of surviving to thriving. The best way to do this is to provide the energy your body needs to thrive. To create the right environment, fill your diet with energizing foods, and change your perspective.
With this comes a change in hormonal flow that will open up your body, allowing the communication channels to flow smoothly and, therefore, your hormones to be healed.
too good to be true
I know it sounds too good to be true, but what if we really have over complexified and over-compensated for what our body was designed to do on it’s own?
It’s not to say that you aren’t going to need some kind of external support to get yourself well. I’m a full fan of bio-identical hormones and supplementation to bring your body back into balance.
But I don’t think you should neglect the remarkable capabilities of healing that are inside of your body. It is impressive, regardless of what you’ve done, or where you’ve been, how your body can heal and rejuvenate itself if left to a safe and healthy environment to do so.
